Fangirl Fridays: Melissa Blue

Hey! Welcome to the first installment of Fangirl Fridays, which is basically the blog version of me grabbing you by the collar and shaking you until you read the authors I think you should be reading.

The star of the first installment is the fabulous Melissa Blue. I’ve been a fan of Melissa’s since I read the first book in her Scotland-set contemporary romance series, Under His Kilt, and have been working my way through her backlist since. Her writing is funny, engaging, and super, super sexy.

I asked Melissa a few questions, and she was kind enough to respond. Get to know her, and then go read her books!

What kind of books do you write?

I love writing contemporary romance. A sprinkle of snark, a dash of angst and lots of dirty sex. Honestly, I don’t think I hit my writing stride until I started to write erotic romance.

What is your favorite romance trope? Do you have a fave book/books that features this trope?

Enemies-to-lovers is hands down my favorite trope. Off the top of my head I can say BET ME by Jennifer Crusie, but really most books that hint at this trope and I’m one-clicking.

What are you working on now? What project should we be keeping an eye out for?

I just finished up the third book in my #dirtysexygeeks series. Wade is one of a kind. He needed a heroine who would turn the tables on him. It’s also the book where I let out my love of Doctor Who. Easter eggs, fez sex and love that makes you bigger on the inside. Happy flails. I never had so much fun writing, and I’ve been writing for what feels like eons.

So of course that means you should keep your eye out for TO ONE HUNDRED, the first book in the series.

If your essence could be encapsulated in one gif, which would it be?

I wholeheartedly believe there is a Supernatural gif for everything. Ash was always my spirit animal.

When they met online they were equals…Then she walks into his classroom.
For four months Eva March shared almost every secret with a handsome stranger. It was easy when she didn’t have to meet his gaze in real life. The online flirtation was fun. She could be a strong, put-together woman without a sordid past. Most importantly, he’d never know the truth.
Grady Addison takes his job as a professor seriously. He doesn’t sleep with co-eds, much less his students. Eva doesn’t even fit his leggy, peppy blonde requirements, but he can’t walk away now. He’s spent too much time fantasizing about her, her smile and the way her eyes darken when she thinks of her past. And her past is a problem. The secrets she hasn’t yet told him could end his career and for Eva, her life could just come crashing down…again.
